Five Steps for Getting to the Good Stuff

Step 1: Find a guide
1 Peter 5:2-3
When life turns up the heat, run to the church, not away from it.

Step 2: Humbly take their advice
1 Peter 5:5
Humility comes from a proper understanding of the grace of God. Everything is a gift. Nothing is earned.

Step 3: Don’t stress about how it is going to turn out.
1 Peter 5:7, Philippians 4:6
He cares about us.

Step 4: Don’t be naive.
1 Peter 5:8-9
Cast your cares on the Lord, but don’t be careless.
Satan constantly seeks out our weak points.

Remember that there is not a single temptation that we are powerless against. 1 Corinthians 10:13

Step 5: Trust the promise.
1 Peter 5:10-11
Restore = God himself will make up whatever you lack.
Establish = God himself will strengthen that which is weak.
Strengthen = God himself will give you whatever you need to complete the task.
Support = God himself will set you on a firm foundation.
