Address the Mess

1 Corinthians 6:12-20

Why to exclude sexual sin from your life

  1. Sexual sin is harmful
  2. Sexual sin controls us like no other sin
  3. Sexual sin destroys God’s plan for our bodies

How do we live out these truths?
How do we battle temptation?

  1. Maximize the consequences
  2. Realize sin isn’t private
Whatever God has for me is better than the temporary pleasure of this sinful act.
Sin will take you farther than you wanted to go, cost you more than you wanted to pay, and keep you longer than you planned to stay.
  3. Set up safeguards
  4. Run from temptation
Temptation is normal; it’s not sin.
The sin is yielding to the desire.
The rewards for faithfulness are enormous but not always immediate.
