Until Further Notice
Church…we are going to change locations for our worship gathering this Sunday. The YMCA has asked us to no hold services there and we as a staff agree that we need to take precautions. That being said, we’re still going to have our worship gathering, however it will be online! Go to our Facebook page to join us online.
My suggestion is to gather with a family or two, share brunch together and watch it online…together! We will go live at 10am, we’ll worship and I’ll be sharing a special message based on Trusting God in the midst of fear. I’m excited about this and believe it will be profitable!
I ask you as your pastor to be smart. Take the necessary precautions to stay out of large public gatherings. I’m not exactly sure what we’re dealing with right now, but there is a reason our government is taking the steps they’re taking. Romans 5 calls us to respect and submit to our authorities. Therefore, I’m happy to live out this biblical example, while thanking God for the technology we have so we can still enjoy worshipping together online! I hope you’ll take my challenge and live out the biblical version of the NT church as we read about in Acts by gathering in small groups and breaking bread together. By no means do you have to do it this way, but if you’re comfortable gathering together, this is a safe alternative!
I’ll leave you with this. There are currently 4 confirmed cases of the virus right here in our own area code. There’s no shame in taking this serious to protect yourself and others!
I love you all and I am doing what I feel is best. This decision was not made in haste, but in careful prayer and lots of conversations. To be honest, by Sunday I don’t think anyone will be going anywhere. Right now we just have to wait and see!
God bless you all! I love being your pastor!!!
